Eliana Sanchez Arteaga
Teacher of Argentine Tango and Gyrotonic
Thank you for visiting. I am Eliana from Buenos Aires, and I am a teacher and student of the Argentine Tango for over twenty years. By working with the best teachers of Buenos Aires and experimenting in the milongas, I developed a personal style based on the music and connection between the dancers that I am happy to share with you.
As a dancer, I presented Argentine Tango to the world in the Shanghai and Yeosu World Expos. As a choreographer, Martin Ojeda and I founded the dance company La Revuelta Tango (see us in action here!) As a teacher and judge, I taught at the Escuela Argentine de Tango and La Viruta, two of the largest tango schools in the world, and judged at the World Tango Festival, International Tango Festival, and World Tango Championships.
As a patient student of the dance, I explore different styles of tango with a wide range of artists, including Juan Cantone, Mariela Lizarza, Gabriel Angio, Natalia Games, Horacio Godoy, Valencia Batiuk, Martín Ojeda, Alejandra Martiñan, Geraldine Rojas, Javier Rodriguez, Carla Marano, Melina Brufman, Roberto Herrera and Claudio Gonzalez.
Since 2003 I have taught in Australia, Europe (Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and the UK), Latin America (Argentina & Columbia) and South East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea). I moved to Hong Kong in 2016 and I look forward to connecting with and helping grow the tango communities in SE Asia.
